Half-day tour: Around Museumpark
Museumpark was originally a country estate. In 1927 it was transformed into a park, and shortly afterwards the expressionist building of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and a group of beautiful modernist villas were built on the edge of the new park, with Huis Sonneveld by Brinkman en Van der Vlugt as most prominent example.
In the early 1990s, the city decided to turn Museumpark into a cultural cluster. At one end sits the Nieuwe Instituut (formerly Dutch Architecture Institute) by Jo Coenen, at the other end the famous Kunsthal by OMA.
We take you on a tour around Museumpark, including a visit to one or more of the museums. Finish your tour at nearby Euromast, a tower built in 1960 by architect Hugh Maaskant, offering a great panoramic view over the city and the river.
